Casino And Other Stuff from Quilting My Way

Today, we were up earlier than usual to get moving. We headed to New Balance shoes at the outlet stores. I needed to get new shoes to see if that was part of my problem with not healing on my ankle. I ended up buying 2 pairs of shoes because there was a sale on the shoes, plus buy one get one. I ended up with 2 pairs of shoes for $116. which is about what I paid for my Skeeters a couple years ago. I know, we are not supposed to wear the same shoes for 2 or 3 ...

Lots To Do Today from Quilting My Way

Jo Pope arrived around 10:15 am. We took a good hour and a half to find fabric for her next 2 quilts. She also picked up 2 batting and backing for the 2 she finished. She does an awesome job!! I love her quilts and they are all done by hand.

She dropped this one off. I need to make a pillowcase for it and it will be ready for Veterans Day.

After she left, I headed to the post office to drop off 2 certificates. Then I headed to PT but stopped at moms on the way. I ...

Presentation Day from Quilting My Way

This morning, I really didn't do much. I was waiting till it was time to leave for the museum. We had a presentation for veterans today.

Debbie and I arrived first, and the others where right behind us. I was surprised that so many of the group arrived early. This group of ours is so wonderful! They work well together, and things are going so smoothly. I can't believe how nice it is to do these presentations without drama!

They were Brandon Planert, Army, Laurel Boyd Maddox, Army, Cragg Parks, Navy, James Radford Inabnit, Marine Corps, Steven Keeling ...

Sewing Day & Mariner's Game from Quilting My Way

This morning, I was getting a few things done before everyone started to show up. We had 7 of us today which is a good sign for Sew Days.

I had everything planned out and cut. Then I had everyone make sure they had the same 1/4" seam allowance guide. Once we had that down, I had them get started on the 2 quilts that I was ready to have done. We worked on the Irish Chain and a 9-patch quilt. I didn't get a photo of the pretty one that is the Irish Chain, but I did ...

Hello Tuesday from Quilting My Way

Today, I had my physical therapy appointment. I was ready to go. Plus, I needed to stop at the post office to send out a couple packages. I also had to get some stamps.

Once that was done, I headed to Centralia for my physical therapy. I was able to feel a little better afterwards.

Got home around 12:30 pm. Then Patrick and I went to the casino. Today's gift was sheets. That's why Patrick wanted to go. He wanted to get the sheets. lol We stayed and played. We actually didn't do bad. We came ...

Embroidery And Mariner's Game from Quilting My Way

This morning, Patrick went golfing and I went to the grange to meet up with my friends for embroidery. I had to stop at Safeway first, then Phils, then post office and last the PUD building. I put the bill in the box for overnight, thinking it was a holiday for them. The people behind me walked right in! Guess they were open today. Oh, well they will get the bill tomorrow then. Now worries.

We had three of us today. I talked my head off. More than I usually do anyway. They asked about mom and that went into ...

Hello Saturday - A Day To Get Ready from Quilting My Way

Today, I was up earlier than usual. I wanted to participate in the war game this morning. I did for a while then went with Debbie to get "coffee." We chatted about the Mariner's game and a few other things. Not sure what's going on with the museum, but I do know the funding has been lost.

Came back home and headed downstairs. I needed to get ready for the sew days on Wednesday and had to pick a few things up.

I got started. The blue bag there was emptied with more fabrics that were donated. I ...

Quilts of Valor Presentation Day from Quilting My Way

Today, I got ready for the presentation. Debbie called and needed a ride, so I picked her up. Then we went to Dutch Brothers for our drinks. Headed to the museum and it looked like there was stuff going on. We didn't mess with the "drama" as we were there for the veterans.

Marilyn came down from Tacoma to help honor our veterans. She helped present the quilts. It was awesome.

Kenneth Proske, Kathleen Powell (sister to Kenneth) are on the left. I can't remember the next 4 and the one on the end, but they were Lester ...

Got Busy Today from Quilting My Way

This morning, I decided to head into town and get a few things done today. We didn't have our BE meeting because Geralyn was at her Wool group. Looks like things are getting harder with us meeting. I have had to cancel all last month and now it looks like we will be canceling part of this month as well. Oh, well.

I was in town, stopped to see Phil while I was in town. I got some stuff at Safeway, and the chicken looked good and fresh, so I bought some. I had to keep it warm - in ...

Think I'm Getting A Cold from Quilting My Way

This morning, I woke with a stuff head, sore throat, and a headache to boot! So, I told Patrick I would be home sooner than planned.

I got up around 8 am and got ready to leave. I need to go to the new CVS store (which doesn't take the insurance needed) and picked up some prescriptions. I then stopped to drop off some veggies for Phil. Had a bucket full. Made him come out and get it, since it was too heavy for me. He gave me cucumbers and zucchini. I dropped one of each off at Colleens ...

Final Day Of Garage Sale from Quilting My Way

This morning, I was out the door by 9:15 am. I arrived early and Colleen beat me there. Debbie showed up around noon. We stayed all day for the sale. It was slow. I was surprised at how much we made because we didn't have much in the way of people buying - at least that I saw.

Around 4 pm, a gal come in and bought half of the fabrics we had left. She was on video with her daughter, showing the fabrics to her on zoom. They picked them together. It took quite a while to get ...

First Day Of The Garage Sale from Quilting My Way

This morning, I headed over to the grange for the garage sale. I was early and waited about an hour for the rest to show up. Colleen was there at 9:30 am and was moving a few things around. We were given another table to use, so that came in handy. We have a few things that needed to be seen.

The first hour of the sale, it was packed! We had so many people come and check out our fabrics. We also sold a ton of it but still have plenty left. I just posted on Facebook what ...

Garage Sale Prepping from Quilting My Way

This morning, Patrick was out the door to go golfing. I got up a little later and was out the door to get to the garage to set up for tomorrow's sale. Colleen was already there.

We opened all the boxes and got them out. We have everything. My back did not like any of the work I did. We needed to get it all out there. I'm hoping we can get most of this sold. There is so much that we need to get rid of it. Poor Colleen was storing all this. There is Christmas stuff ...

Stayed Home Today from Quilting My Way

This morning, I woke in pain again. It was a little better than yesterday, but still hard to walk first thing in the morning. I called Debbie and told her I wasn't going to be able to make it to the presentation.

Patrick went golfing but checked on me from time to time. I got a couple things for Debbie, and she stopped to get them before heading to the museum. Donna called to let me know we had a veteran waiting for our 11 am presentation. She wanted to know what to do, since he was scheduled for ...

Casino Day from Quilting My Way

This morning, I had a Physical Therapy appointment. It went well, but it's not doing much good. Bob is going to send the report to my doctor and see what he wants to do going forward. I wasn't too thrilled it's not working as fast as I would like. Bob will tell him what he thinks and then we will go from there. Next week is my appointment with my doctor.

Before going, I stopped to give Phil some veggies and then stopped at PUD to pay the electric bill for the water well. Once that was ...

Good Grief! Another Tuesday Goes By! from Quilting My Way

Today is Tuesday! Not Monday, Not Wednesday, but Tuesday! Time flies anymore. One minute I'm looking forward to the weekend and Tuesday arrived a lot faster than Monday does. UGH

I was up shortly after Patrick head out to golfing. I needed to be up for Val to stop by. She has another top for me. That will make it about 15 tops that need to be quilted. At this rate we will be doing great to start out the new year.

After Val left Patrick came home. We had to run up to Olympia for his blood tests ...

My Busy Mondays! from Quilting My Way

This morning, I could wait to leave for embroidery. I had a ton of stuff to do afterwards.

Arrived at the grange to find Sandy there. I haven't chatted with her for a while. We had a good visit. She worked on one of her projects that she wanted to get done. I worked on my Seattle piece and started on the mountain. I didn't like it at first but just needed to keep going. I will work more on it later. No photo yet.

After our meeting, I headed to moms. I was able to drop off ...

Went Into Town And Then Worked On QOV from Quilting My Way

Today, I wanted to just enjoy the day. But I needed to get a few things done, which didn't give me much time to enjoy the day.

First thing, I had to go into town and see Phil, then I was back home. Patrick was working with the pressor washer on the back patio area.

I was downstairs working on getting some of the tops ready for quilting. Rita said they have 2 quilts she will drop off on Tuesday for me. I told her to let me know when they can do more. She gave me an "ok ...

Need To Work On My Plans from Quilting My Way

Today we slept in. I was surprised I could, since my hips were telling me otherwise.

I had a few things to do on the computer. Next thing I know, I'm working on the family history.

Patrick's tree grew another few generations. I was able to get his Van Winkle family to 1500s. I also worked on a couple others. One of the branches goes to England, another Wales, and yet another to Holland. It's interesting but hard to work on at times. There are so many Patrick Coffey's out there as well as Jacob Van ...

Another Interesting Day At Moms from Quilting My Way

Patrick went golfing. I took the veggies that he had given me to take to moms. I had to go to physical therapy before the meeting. It ended up with me going to WinCo to get some tomatoes and I got some powered doughnuts (mini) for nibbling on.

I showed Bob the stack of veggies I had. He asked if he could take it all. I said sure, it was going to mom, and the ladies always forget to take the stuff. He was being nice and left some of the veggies for the ladies. I took it to moms ...
