Okay, It's Thursday - Getting Stuff Ready from Quilting My Way

This morning, Patrick was golfing and I was sleeping in.

When I got up, I had to get moving. I played my game for a bit, then got a text about coming over to pick up a kit. I told Colleen I would be walking for 30 minutes, but she's welcome to come. Just as I finished my 6th lap, she was here. I'm glad I was able to get 6 laps in. I was getting into my audiobook as I was walking. I'm surprised at liking what I'm listening to. I usually don't do ...

Power Outage Yesterday - Usual Monday Today from Quilting My Way

Yesterday was one of those days. I decided no matter what, I needed to get the quilt top done and off to Colleen. So, after playing a few games, I went downstairs to get to work on it.

The top and bottom stars fit perfectly. Then when it was time to add the sides, they were off about an inch or two. So, I had to rethink how to get this done. The red was a "pop" and worked great. So, then I called Patrick down to help me out.

So, I added a blue on the sides to give ...

Day At The Casino from Quilting My Way

We were up early because I had to go to Olympia to get an X-ray of my chest. We also had to stop and get Patrick's blood drawn. So, we were out the door by 8:45 am to get gas and head up to Olympia.

We then went to the casino and were there by 11:45 am. We played our favorite games. It was interesting because we won 2 MAJOR bonus - over $900. Then we also won big prizes in the bonus rounds. We came home with a lot more than we went with. At first, we ...

Back To My Beading - Ornaments from Quilting My Way

Today, we both slept in. Patrick wasn't feeling all that well, so stayed home from golfing.

I played my games for a bit, then cleaned the house. Had a couple loads of laundry going and vacuumed the house. Amazing how much cat hair as well as my own hair that comes up in the vacuum cleaner. UGH

Then I played for an hour in the war games with my "alliance."

Once I was done with that, I plugged my tablet in and looked for a beading ornament for this year. I started on a star one, but it was ...

Sewing Day For QOV from Quilting My Way

This morning, Patrick went golfing and I got up to get ready for company to work on our QOV projects.

I went downstairs and was getting things ready for sewing. Everyone arrived around 10 am and we worked all the way to 3:30 pm. Mary stayed a bit longer to help me with the panel quilt

We had about 3 or 4 quilts going at once. They were all ones that were started but not finished. We did get one finished that needed a border to it. This quilt, we were able to get 9 of the 11 rows ...

Hello Tuesday from Quilting My Way

This morning, I tried to sleep in but wasn't so lucky. I pretty much played my games this morning. Patrick came in after golfing - at 10:30 am. I was going to go walking but it rained. So, instead, I headed downstairs and worked on my prepping for tomorrow.

I cut more fabric for the kit quilt that needed more to it. Then I put together a pillowcase. I also trimmed the blocks that we are using for the panel quilt. I have it pretty much ready to get done. Hopefully, tomorrow we will have 2 quilts done, if ...

Getting Ready For Wednesday from Quilting My Way

Today, I enjoyed sleeping a little longer. I really didn't want to get up.

When I did, I got laundry going (then forgot about it). I headed downstairs to work on getting ready for the sew day on Wednesday. I need to send out an email to everyone for a reminder.

I was looking for things we started and didn't get finished. So, I found the quilt we were working on in January that didn't get done. I also pulled out the kit that JoAnn gave me back. I have it ready to work on as well ...

Casino And A Finish from Quilting My Way

This morning, we headed out to the casino. We have Wednesdays this month for the casino - except for next week. We have sew days here.

We played at the casino a good 4-5 hours. We didn't lose much at all.  We played on their money. I think the little we lost was from the money we won a few weeks ago. So, we are still ahead. Patrick got a bonus of $1,163 that was under the line of having to get an IRS form done. lol

We then went to Safeway for things we need. We even had ...

QOV Presentation Day from Quilting My Way

This morning, I worked on cleaning up the house before heading to the museum. I had some laundry done, cat litter taken care of, and even some computer work done.

Then I headed out to the museum and picked up some coffee for Debbie, tea for me, before getting there.

I had a few things going on when I arrived. Sam wasn't there, because she's in Texas. Chip was busy with something that happened to the museum, so didn't get a chance to chat with him. Everything was set up for the presentation. Donna filled in for ...

Getting Ready For Thursday from Quilting My Way

This morning, Patrick went golfing and I slept in. When I got up, I started laundry and got on the computer to work on a few things.

Once all that was done, Patrick walked in the house. Didn't get to listen to my book for very long. I then went downstairs to get the backing and batting done for the 250th panel quilt. It needs to get done.

Came back upstairs and started writing the names on the labels of the quilts we have done. They will go to the museum Thursday.

This was one that Colleen's sister ...

Finished Taking Quilt Apart from Quilting My Way

This morning, Patrick decided not to go golfing. Darn! So, we spent the day together. He napped half the afternoon. But I worked on the laundry and my cross stitching. Oh, baked a cake as well. Patrick was bugging me for his "Lazy Daisy Cake" that his mom made.

First things first. I was able to get all the quilting taken out of this quilt. Then I separated the top from the backing and batting. Now I have to go and cut a backing and batting for it and get it ready to be quilted again.

Then I decided to ...

From One Thing To Another from Quilting My Way

I was up early today. I wanted to go to the Driver's License department to get my license renewed. So, I was up and out the door by 8:45 am. When I arrived, it was closed. Sign said it was closed on Mondays, but open at 8:30 am Tuesday to Saturday. Guess I will go later in the week.

Then I went to get a tea for myself. They didn't get it extra hot, so made another one. Told them I would pay for the other one, as mom was 90 years old and love chai ...

Quiet Friday - Relaxed Day from Quilting My Way

This morning, I was up and had to get ready to head out before my war game challenge. I had a few things to do today.

First stop was to the church to pick up a quilt we gave them and one that Linda Nelson did for us. She does such beautiful quilts for us.

It's a little short but it's awesome! I love this quilt!

Then I went to Safeway to get a few things. Stopped to say hi to Phillip.

With all that done, I was ready to come back home. I really didn't want ...

All Day Sewing - With Friends from Quilting My Way

This morning, it was sew days with the group. We had 5 of us. Colleen had to leave early to get her granddaughter. We had a routine going that worked out. We had Martha who came a while back and a new gal, Patti. Debbie and I were there as well. I was running around from one thing to another to keep it flowing right.

We had some pillowcases for the Bazaar, veterans and children sizes.

By the time we were done, we had 21 pillowcases done and 5 that were close. Those will be finished at the next sew ...

Busy Cutting & Pinning from Quilting My Way

This morning, Colleen came over to help me get ready for tomorrow. We wanted to have stuff ready to start right away, rather than waiting until they arrived.

First, we pinned the pillowcases that were grouped and ready to go. Once we had this bucket done, we started cutting more pillowcases to be pinned tomorrow. That way we had 2 stages started and should be easy enough to go from there.

Colleen has done her pillowcases a little differently and she likes that method better. I watched her, and I found we waste material as well as doing twice the ...

Taking A Quilt Apart from Quilting My Way

This morning, it was BE day. I didn't do any BE work. Instead, I help mom by taking out the stitches on the anniversary quilt.

It was the one I did.

It was given to a quilter that is new and said she has quilted for years. I'm not showing the whole quilt that was quilted. I think even mom said she does good work. BUT this time she did not!

I did get some work done. It's coming out easily and the quilting was done by regular thread not quilting thread. That actually made it 100 ...

Another Friday That Feels Like Saturday from Quilting My Way

I almost said "another Saturday" just because it feels like it.

We started the day out by going to the casino. We played for a while and waited till 2 pm to get our gifts. Patrick had to play on his card and get more points in order to get the gift. It's a Bissell Steam cleaner. Not sure if it's a good one or not. But we ended up with 2 of them. The pot/pan is Sunday. So, yes, we are heading back over there on Sunday.

We got home around 3:30 pm which surprised ...

Presentation Day For 9 Veterans from Quilting My Way

Today we had our presentation. Brother Patrick and Christine came to visit beforehand. Then we met up with them later.

We had 9 scheduled, one didn't show, but one did that I told to be there and thought he was on the list. So, we were back to 9. We had a couple quilts on the side just in case we needed them. But when we were going to put them away, there was only one. I'm not sure, but I think something happened to one of our quilts. I can't say and I may be wrong ...

A Day At Home from Quilting My Way

This morning, Patrick and I slept in. I went downstairs to get the fireplace going so I could work down there getting stuff ready for the sew days next week.

I played my games for a bit, then I headed downstairs to work on the purple I needed to finish the wreath. Once I had those cut, I started working on the pillowcases that we are going to try and sell at the Bazaar. I just hope we can sell them.

Later this weekend I will work on getting them ready to sew. That way I will have a stack ...

Trip To Olympia And Back from Quilting My Way

Today, Patrick went golfing, I slept in. Then I got moving on doing the laundry while playing my games. I was able to get a lot done before he got back and we had to head to Olympia.

We went to his Oncology appointment. Like he said when he got out, it isn't that he has cancer, it's that he is living with cancer. There is a difference. He is doing great and the doctor even commented on his weight gain and looking better. He asked him if he thought we wouldn't make it, and the doctor ...
