Busy Cutting & Pinning from Quilting My Way

This morning, Colleen came over to help me get ready for tomorrow. We wanted to have stuff ready to start right away, rather than waiting until they arrived.

First, we pinned the pillowcases that were grouped and ready to go. Once we had this bucket done, we started cutting more pillowcases to be pinned tomorrow. That way we had 2 stages started and should be easy enough to go from there.

Colleen has done her pillowcases a little differently and she likes that method better. I watched her, and I found we waste material as well as doing twice the ...

Taking A Quilt Apart from Quilting My Way

This morning, it was BE day. I didn't do any BE work. Instead, I help mom by taking out the stitches on the anniversary quilt.

It was the one I did.

It was given to a quilter that is new and said she has quilted for years. I'm not showing the whole quilt that was quilted. I think even mom said she does good work. BUT this time she did not!

I did get some work done. It's coming out easily and the quilting was done by regular thread not quilting thread. That actually made it 100 ...

Another Friday That Feels Like Saturday from Quilting My Way

I almost said "another Saturday" just because it feels like it.

We started the day out by going to the casino. We played for a while and waited till 2 pm to get our gifts. Patrick had to play on his card and get more points in order to get the gift. It's a Bissell Steam cleaner. Not sure if it's a good one or not. But we ended up with 2 of them. The pot/pan is Sunday. So, yes, we are heading back over there on Sunday.

We got home around 3:30 pm which surprised ...

Presentation Day For 9 Veterans from Quilting My Way

Today we had our presentation. Brother Patrick and Christine came to visit beforehand. Then we met up with them later.

We had 9 scheduled, one didn't show, but one did that I told to be there and thought he was on the list. So, we were back to 9. We had a couple quilts on the side just in case we needed them. But when we were going to put them away, there was only one. I'm not sure, but I think something happened to one of our quilts. I can't say and I may be wrong ...

A Day At Home from Quilting My Way

This morning, Patrick and I slept in. I went downstairs to get the fireplace going so I could work down there getting stuff ready for the sew days next week.

I played my games for a bit, then I headed downstairs to work on the purple I needed to finish the wreath. Once I had those cut, I started working on the pillowcases that we are going to try and sell at the Bazaar. I just hope we can sell them.

Later this weekend I will work on getting them ready to sew. That way I will have a stack ...

Trip To Olympia And Back from Quilting My Way

Today, Patrick went golfing, I slept in. Then I got moving on doing the laundry while playing my games. I was able to get a lot done before he got back and we had to head to Olympia.

We went to his Oncology appointment. Like he said when he got out, it isn't that he has cancer, it's that he is living with cancer. There is a difference. He is doing great and the doctor even commented on his weight gain and looking better. He asked him if he thought we wouldn't make it, and the doctor ...

Yet Another Monday - Just Mom & I from Quilting My Way

This morning, I was running late. I picked up some tea for both of us. Mom was happy with that. I took in my grab bag for when I am at doctor appointments. I took our quilt with the bear and gave it to mom. We worked on what to quilt around the border. She wants to put it in the quilt show come September. We worked it out, and she's going to get it ready to quilt after she's finished with the veggie cats quilt. It's really cute!

Then we sat and I crocheted while she ...

Hello, Saturday - Meeting Day from Quilting My Way

This morning, I was ready for our meeting. I had to vacuum downstairs so we could have a clean area to have the meeting. I usually don't do much down there. I can be lazy about vacuuming and dusting downstairs.

Our meeting went well. I have a few things I have to do and get answers back to the people working on the projects. I also have to get moving on the wreaths they want for the Bazaar. Not what I'm happy about, but the group wants to do this. I passed out some wire wreaths for them ...

Movie Day from Quilting My Way

This morning, Patrick was up before me. He was sitting in the living room. I thought he was going golfing but remembered he said he had to go to Olympia instead for blood work.

He left and I went downstairs to get to work on the wreath scraps to work on the wreaths. Cutting takes the longest on this.

I was able to cut some but not near what we need. It's going to be interesting how we get all this done. I will try, but dang!

Plus, I need to spend time on the computer doing research for ...

Laundry, Museum & Cross Stitching from Quilting My Way

This morning, I worked on the laundry. Getting all the loads I didn't get over the last week and running out of clothes. I still have a couple loads to do, but at least I was able to do quite a bit today. I ran the Roomba when Debbie called to head to the museum.

Debbie picked me up to head over to the museum to talk to Donna. I took over the 3 quilts I had as well. We stopped at DB and I got another $15 gift card, since I forgot the one I have.

Arrived at ...

Monday - Brazilian Embroidery Day from Quilting My Way

This morning, I was out the door and off to moms. We are back to having it at moms. Geralyn was there with Georgie and Bonnie. So, five of us enjoyed each other's company.  Geralyn was working on her hedgehog that is so cute!

I worked on the darker red areas. I finished the rose bud area and then went to work on the petals to the right. They are done with the detached buttonhole and turned out better than I expected. I'm not really pleased with the center area, but it worked out. The outer part is ...

Another Day Of Garage Selling from Quilting My Way

Today I had a little more time before heading to the garage sale. I stopped and got some tea.

I arrived around 9:20 am and the doors were already open. Colleen was already there. It wasn't a busy day. It was so slow that I wondered when 5 pm would come around. It was Colleen and I for a while. Then Debbie arrived around 3:30 and mom arrived around 4 pm. I called Patrick to come get the TV stand because it didn't go. The TV went finally. We sold a few bigger items but not ...

Garage Sale All Day from Quilting My Way

This morning, I was up around 7:30 am to leave by 8:30 am. I thought our garage sale was at 9 am today but found out it wasn't till 10 am. So, I was a good hour and some early.

All the vendors were there, so at 9:25 am we decided to open the doors. We had a good run of stuff going out the door. Then when Debbie showed up, she brought stuff she had and we put that out. A lot of stuff was being sold at cheap prices. We sold the guitar, trunk ...

Getting Ready For The Garage Sale AND Trip To Olympia from Quilting My Way

This morning, I left around 9 am for my dentist appointment. I had a cleaning appointment, and it went well. I do like my new dentist office.

Then I headed over to the garage sale and found one of the big items was marked really cheap and sold. So, I couldn't fix the price. lol I did fix the price on the guitar as it was too cheap also. We sold some stuff even before we started. I brought home the money to put in the box. It's ready to go for tomorrow.

I baked the bread I ...

Getting Garage Sale Ready from Quilting My Way

This morning, Patrick and I loaded up the truck. Then we dropped off 2 quilts at the church. Next was at Phil's to pick up the stuff he had to go to the sale.

We arrived at the grange to unload. It was A LOT! And they told us when we got there, we couldn't take any more stuff. So, I needed to send an SOS to stop bringing stuff for the sale. We unloaded everything. There is a lot of stuff, and I just hope we get rid of most if not all of it!

It's ...

Casino Day from Quilting My Way

Today, I didn't want to get up. I figure I'm still trying to get rid of whatever it is I have. Trouble is, I talk like a frog and everything else is fine. So, who knows what this is.

Patrick was golfing, so I played for a bit. When he got home, we left for the casino. We started out with some money to play on. Of course. that didn't last long. We played on our money and when we finally found a machine to play on, it kept us going for a while. It was nice ...

Oops! Missed A Day from Quilting My Way

This morning, I was cleaning up. Had things to do and get done.

Once all that was done, I played games. Watched TV and played games. Wasn't in the mood to do much till around 2 pm.

Then I pulled out my cross stitching.

I worked on the upper left area. Now I'm coming back down. I had to take out a good part of the area in the top left where the green is. I had the wrong color there. So, I ripped it out and put it back in.

I was having fun with this; I ...

Another Trip To The Casino from Quilting My Way

This morning, we decided to go to the casino. We didn't have any plans, and Patrick hasn't golfed for a couple of days. He really doesn't like the cold weather. So, this gave him something to do. We played first with their money and then ours. I ran into Bev and her husband Robert. Robert used to work at the museum but lately he's cut back there. We chatted; it was good to see them both. They apparently go on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. If Patrick wasn't golfing, chances are we would go that often ...

Presentation At The Chehalis Tribe from Quilting My Way

Today, I was sleeping in. I didn't want to get up. 9 am was the time I decided to move! Patrick was already in the living room.

We left around 11:15 am. Patrick dropped me off at the Elder Center and he went on to the casino to play. I didn't think about it, but I could have dropped him off and then came over.

We had lunch with the Elders. Then we did the presentation for 2 veterans. It was awesome! We were holding up the quilt forever while the first veteran talked about being a ...

Embroidery Today & Getting Ready For Tomorrow from Quilting My Way

This morning, I was up early. Had breakfast and played for a bit. Then I got all my stuff ready for the day. Loaded the car and headed to DB for my tea. It was a long line today. But I was only about 5 minutes late. Gerilyn was right behind me as was Sandy.

We had 5 of us and enjoyed it! I even ordered 4 of the "Welcome" pieces that we all want to work on. It's a training piece, but hopefully we will get it done as a group.

I worked on my rose.

I did ...
