Amazing How Time Flies from Quilting My Way

Today was one of those days, had to be up for a zoom meeting with the state coordinator about QOV. That started at 10 am. Then after it was over, I got a few things done but came in here to work on genealogy again.

After lunch, I went downstairs to get a binding done for the quilt that Debbie dropped off yesterday. Once I had the binding ready, I worked on the pillowcases that I need to do for Thursday.

The binding is ready to stitch down on the quilt. I will do that tomorrow.

Four of the pillowcases ...

To Olympia & Back from Quilting My Way

This morning, I was out of bed at 7 am to be up in Olympia by 9 am. I had an appointment with my Gastroenterologist. It was over the liver issue that popped up recently. What fun! While I was there, I asked my doctor about Patrick having a referral and not getting in yet. Told him about his surgery, and he said he would see what he could do for us. As I was leaving, waiting for a follow-up appointment, the gal came in with Patrick's appointment with my doctor. I was tickled to death! I really like ...

Actually Did Something Today from Quilting My Way

This morning, I was up and ready before Patrick. I had a foot doctor appointment and was out the door by 10 am. Tomorrow, I have another appointment and will have to leave by 8 am. Not looking forward to this.

I went to the foot doctor and then stopped at moms to collect a quilt that needed the binding sewn down. Then I went to get the car washed, stopped at DB, and then Colleen's. I picked up a quilt and then dropped off the two I had that needed to be done. I know I have 4 ...

Busy Day - AGAIN from Quilting My Way

Today, I really didn't want to get up, so I slept till 10 am. Then forced myself to get up. Patrick was already up and watching TV.

I got moving as soon as I was up. I worked on getting Patrick what he needed or wanted. He said she wanted to have the tomato sauce I made the other day, and I really didn't want to use it up that fast. So, I went out to the garden and got a few more tomatoes, luckily enough to make a small batch of sauce. I put that in the ...

Maybe Tomorrow from Quilting My Way

Today, I was able to sleep in. I didn't want to get up. I could have stayed there but still needed to go see Patrick.

I dropped off the electric bill to PUD, since they always get it late when I mail it. It's for the water system and the last thing we need to do is pay $20 each month for being late because of the mail.

Then I went to Dutch Brothers to get my tea. It was 2xs the points if I buy 2. I ordered my drink and one for Patrick. They gave me ...

A Day To Myself - Sort Of from Quilting My Way

Today started early. Was getting texts before 8 am and I was hoping to sleep in. No such luck. I had so many texts and calls before 9 am that I had to get up. Then I got to work on laundry, running the Roomba, cleaning the cat litter and refrigerator. After all that, I went for a walk. I didn't get very far when I ran into the neighbor, and she gave me some tomatoes and peaches. Patrick likes his peaches. I will try and roast the tomatoes tomorrow because I have a couple from our garden as ...

One More Day from Quilting My Way

One more day of driving to Olympia. It does get old. And the drivers in Olympia are awful!

I waited to go up to see Patrick till after 10 am. I needed to go to Kaiser first for blood work. Once that was done - there were 25 people in front of me! - I headed over to see Patrick. He was doing good. There were so many people coming in to see him. He finally told me about his doctor's visits. They are all happy with how fast he is healing. He always was a fast healer. It sounds like ...

Still Trying To Figure A Better Theme from Quilting My Way

This morning, I slept in. Didn't feel like getting up. Patrick was up and down all night. So, the extra sleep helped. I told him he needs to go to UC but he said he's going to wait till Monday. Let's see how that goes. I'm getting frustrated with all this. He sleeps pretty much all day. I have to be quiet, because I know what it's like when one is trying to sleep. So, nothing much gets done. I did watch a couple shows on BritBox but that gets old as well. I'm ...

Mom's House For Embroidery - OOPS! Quilt Stuff from Quilting My Way

This morning, I had my list of things to do before heading to moms. I left early enough to end up at her house 30 mins early. Oh, well.

I went to the credit union to find out why my little account was being wiped out. Come to find out, even though I told PayPal to put it on my credit card, they were taking it out of my bank account. So, I reminded myself to fix that when I got home.

Mom was working on the Forest Galorest Quilt. AGAIN, I would NOT buy this pattern ever again. It ...

Casino & Cross Stitching from Quilting My Way

This morning, I worked on some of my QOV paperwork again. Added more information to my long list I already have done.

Then we left at 10 am to go to the museum to drop off the paperwork for membership. Then we went to Walmart for some potting soil that I've been asking for all summer. Once that was done, we headed to the casino.

We had a good time at the casino. Won some and lost more. We were there about 3 hours. The machines are pretty tight. The ones we play tightened up so bad that we ...

A Working Day from Quilting My Way

This morning, I did get about 5 laps in. It was getting hot around 10:30 am so I called it done early.

Came in and went to work on the QOV paperwork. I took all day to get it where I needed it to be. Now the excel is set and ready to go. I have emails to do. I did do 2 letters that will go out tomorrow. A lot of work to keep this moving. We are getting closer to getting veterans done before 1 year, but it's not easy at this rate. We got about ...

Monday's At Mom's - Embroidery from Quilting My Way

This morning I had a list of things to do. One was heading to the bank and then to City Hall. I stopped at City Hall to see the Police Chief and City Manager. I gave them some applications for veterans. I also enjoyed chatting with Stacey since I haven't seen him in years. We chatted like old friends. That put me behind. I stopped at DB and it was busy. So, I had to wait. I told them I wasn't happy that the last 2 times I ordered a drink for Debbie, they gave me a medium ...

Picking Apples and Baking from Quilting My Way

This morning, we did the usual of cleaning up. Then we went outside and picked a bucket of apples. We have 8 boxes of apples out there that were on the ground. So, we didn't start picking them fast enough.

Came in and made apple sauce with the first set of apples. Patrick didn't want to do much, which was disappointing since I was wanting to do the whole bucket. I did take 3 apples and make a German Apple Cake for tomorrow. It's in the refrigerator.

I also got to work on the excel paperwork that ...

Presentation Day & Cross-Stitching from Quilting My Way

This morning, we had our presentation. Actually, it was at 1 pm but I had to get there early to get stuff done. We ended up with a couple veterans an hour early. Patrick was there even earlier than that. So, it all worked out. I just had to play catch up.

We honored 7 veterans. Two where Father and Son. Those 2 are on the right. Kreft family. Not in order but they were: Andrew Short, Bryan Barbee, Ray Kreft, Joshua Kreft, James Nelson, Brain Cox, and Aaron Allen.

We will try to get the other 2 later. It ...

Casino Day from Quilting My Way

This morning, we planned to go to the casino. I got a few things done before heading out.

We dropped off 2 kits and picked up 2 tops from Martha on the way. Then we played for a good 4 hours. We had fun. Won and lost, but we didn't lose a lot. We are still playing off the money we got 4 months ago. They aren't giving out big wins anymore and they aren't giving out as much money as they did before. Next month I will only get about $45 when I was getting $75 ...

Another Not Crafty Day from Quilting My Way

This morning, I took my walk before I did anything. It was already 65 degrees outside. I got the full 7 laps in today.

Then came in and worked on my QOV stuff. I needed to get my excel finished and also work on who's next on the list to get a quilt. Patrick came in from golfing. He quit early and went to take a nap. That seemed to help him out. While he was doing that, I was working on QOV and making phone calls.

He had a meeting to go to after supper and then we ...

Day 4 - Trip To Moorea & Today from Quilting My Way

Okay, I got some of my accounting wrong, but you get the idea of what we were doing. We actually tried to go to the Waterfall the first day we were there. It was WAY off the beaten path. We drove through a neighborhood, then a bumpy road that went into a skinny lane of mud. So, we parked like so many others did. Then we hiked about a half mile When it was up a hill on rocky soil. We got halfway up the hill when Kat said it was another mile to the falls. UGH - so we called ...

Day 3 - Moorea (& Today) from Quilting My Way

Day 3 - I get confused on the days because I was counting the days of travel. But on day 2 we decided to rest and get ready for the hike the next day to the top of the mountain. That was an interesting trip - I will tell you tomorrow about that.

We were enjoying the view and swimming in the afternoon. It was trip to find some shopping. I wanted a dress and a shirt. So, we took a ride and stopped at the beach for photos, then to the shopping. This photo is our bungalow pic. We were on ...

WAY TOO HOT TODAY from Quilting My Way

This morning, Patrick went golfing and I went for a walk at 11 am. I went 4 times around the neighborhood. Then came in the house to find sweat rolling off my face. I TOUGHT I was early enough, but NOPE.

I played games for a bit. Then came into the computer room and worked on my QOV stuff. It's taking a lot longer than I had hoped. Now I know why Debbie was stalling. I also found a Mandatory email for our program. It's supposed to take an hour, but we will see. I signed up for ...

Embroidery Meeting Day from Quilting My Way

This morning I was off to moms. I took both my bags in the house. I wasn't sure what I would do. I pulled out the embroidery piece that I usually work on when I'm waiting for Patrick. I was able to get some leaves done and found I still have another area to work on.

The leaves on the top left are done. I moved over to the area on the top right. I will try and get a photo of it later.

I then helped mom with her Apple TV. She needed to renew her subscription ...
